In the movie, the “BIG PUSH” that motivates Marcus, is when his mother was killed and he think where should he can get the resources to survive.

Marcus makes good money out of selling. He became an associate with big time drug dealers. yes, he became rich. But one thing he really know, he really want to become a rapper, not a drug seller.

In the movie, Marcus he didn’t realize the effects of associating with the “rich but bad guys”. He just want to earn a living, whether it is inclined in his conscience or not, as long as he makes money, that’s fine. The very “BIG THING” in his head is “MONEY”.
