7 Biggest & Common Blogging Mistakes to Avoid I Wish I Knew Before
In blogging like in real life, we are making mistakes. I wish I know everything about the common blogging mistakes to avoid when I was starting out. But, I am so happy today because I know my mistakes and I have time to fix all things up especially in this blog. This blog is coming to its 3rd year anniversary on 2016. I earned some few bucks through blogging. I know if I did the right thing in the first place, this blog may generate more income for me.
I am a focused-individual. I know my priority and I know what I want. I want $100 per day extra income. And those $100 per day will invest in my favorite investment basket; the stock market.
I have a goal for this blog, and when I realized that I am not reaching my goal, I have found that I am doing the same mistakes over and over again.
7 Common Blogging Mistakes to Avoid
Blogging Mistake #1: Don’t Write what Other People are Searching for
I just write articles related to what I know and not writing what people are searching for. I should start writing keywords or the things that people are searching for.
I remember few months ago, I announced that I need a SEO Expert to optimized my blog after I migrated my Blogger.Com blog to WordPress Self Hosted.
Blogging Mistake #2: No Time for Marketing
I don’t have time to promote this blog. That’s a big mistake. As I have learned today, if content is king, the pope is the traffic.
Blogging Mistake #3: Forgotten Off-Page SEO
I have no time for building back links. Back links are the heart of SEO, the more links that this blog was linked to other blogs, the more it became popular and the more it will be loved by many major search engines.
Blogging Mistake #4: Wasting Time in Changing WordPress Themes
I keep on changing WordPress theme. Aside from keep on changing themes, I used free WordPress theme. That’s a big mistake, money will only come if there are traffic. Changing themes frequently can’t increase blog traffic. That’s a waste of time.
Blogging Mistake #5: Oww, the On-Page SEO is Misused
I am not making on-page SEO. I didn’t use proper headings and subheadings (H2, H3, H4)., bold keywords, italicized keywords, underlined keywords. I rarely insert images in my blog post. I don’t interlink my old blog post.
Blogging Mistake #6: Targeting Specific Countries is Sometimes Bad
My blog targets are only in a specific countries where in fact I am not living in my target countries. I should start serving my fellow citizen first before other people. Besides, targeting “worldwide” or international traffic is great.
Blogging Mistake #7: I Rely to Other People’s Ideas, I forgot my Own
I read, read and read. I will make money out of reading. I am making money because of blogging. Starting today, I will not read anymore, the tips and tricks in blogging and my mistakes are enough for me to learn important things. So, stop learning and keep on working.
As a Summary
Here are my experiences and big mistakes or the common blogging mistakes to avoid I wish I knew it before.. I should start writing post about what people are searching for. I should have time to promote this blog and generate blog traffic. Money comes only when the traffic spikes not when I change themes. Write things for people internationally not only in a specific countries, since I am a blogger, I think blogging for many people is great. Learning is imperative to success, and take action is also a vital part of success.
