I have found another personal finance book entitled “Build Your Own Mutual Fund” written by Brian O’Connell published by Adams Media (Avon, Massachusetts, USA). The full title of the book is Build Your Own Mutual Fund: How to Use a Personal Portfolio to Take Control of Your Financial Life. The title of the book talk itself. Don’t be confused, the book can’t teach you how to invest in mutual funds. It is about stock investing. Update: I include this book as one of the best personal finance books.

Do you know that even only in reading personal finance books, you can learn financial literacy? That’s true, I discover investment through books (I didn’t attend seminars). My experience is I follow every steps and procedures provided in the books I read. Example; if the book recommends stocks for 20 years old. I opened a stock brokerage account and start buying stock shares.

Why it is entitled like that? It is because, there is a mutual fund type called “mutual fund equity” where in the funds of the investors are invested purely in stocks. Therefore, you don’t need to invest in mutual fund equity if you are planning to invest in the stock market.
