  • Never wire funds (e.g. Western Union) – anyone who asks you to is a scammer.
  • Don’t accept cashier/certified checks or money orders – banks cash fakes, then hold you responsible.
  • Transactions are between users only, no third party provides a “guarantee”.
  • Never give out financial info (bank account, social security, paypal account, etc).
  • Do not rent or purchase sight-unseen—that amazing “deal” may not exist.
  • Refuse background/credit checks until you have met landlord/employer in person.

Craigslist Online Classifieds Review

There is a good question that caught my attention. In Yahoo Answer, someone ask; “Is Craigslist a good site for selling stuff?” Here I want to share to you some of the answers provided by respondents.

Sarina said….

“In my personal experience Craigslist is good website for sell stuff.”

Ryan M agreed with some caution;

“Yes, but there are also MANY people who have been scammed, robbed and killed by buying/selling on Craigslist.”

makeupfan added his answers and recommend other buying and selling website options;

“There are better ones. Many communities have local Facebook ‘garage sale’ pages where you can post items for sale. I prefer ebay, although the packing/shipping part can get tedious.”

In my opinion Craigslist is great way to buy and sell stuff online. But be careful because there are lot of spammers. Other people join Craigslist to drive traffic to their site. Their intention is to spam the community. The worst is to “scam other people”. Thanks to Craigslist.org because they inform the members how to avoid getting scammed (the one I mentioned awhile ago credited to Craigslist.org)
